Glass Milk & Juice Jugs
“Is there any cold milk?” is one of the questions staff hear most at a hotel breakfast. Usually there is, sitting in the kitchen, because the jug on the counter ran out ten minutes ago. Clear glass jugs fix half of that problem on their own: staff can see from across the room when a jug is getting low and refill it before a guest has to ask.
Makrey has supplied breakfast counters and dining rooms in Indian hotels since 1981. This collection has two 1.3 litre glass jugs for milk and juice, one open and one with a lid.
Glass Milk Jug and Glass Juice Jug for Hotels
Glass Milk Jug 1.3L
The glass milk jug holds 1.3 litres, enough to serve a full row of cereal bowls before it needs a refill. Clear glass shows the milk inside, so the jug looks fresh on the counter and staff always know how much is left. It works as a milk jug for hotel buffets, room service trays and tea stations.
Glass Juice Jug with Lid 1.3L
The glass juice jug also holds 1.3 litres and comes with a lid that keeps dust and insects out on a long buffet. Fresh orange, watermelon or mosambi juice looks its best in clear glass, and the lid makes this a glass juice pitcher with lid that can also go out on poolside and terrace tables. As a glass jug for juice, it also suits lassi, buttermilk and infused water.
Milk Jug, Milk Pitcher or Milk Decanter?
Hotels use different names for the same piece. Some call it a milk pitcher, some a milk decanter and some simply a jug for milk. What matters on a buffet is the same: a clear body, a spout that pours without dripping and a size that does not need refilling every few minutes.
A jug of milk next to the cereal dispensers and another by the tea and coffee station usually covers a small breakfast. For a larger buffet, keep two jugs in rotation at each point, one on the counter and one chilling in the kitchen.
Using a Juice Jug for Restaurant and Buffet Service
- On the breakfast buffet: set the juice jug next to glasses and a small drip plate.
- At the table: a juice jug for restaurant service lets guests top up their own glass during brunch.
- For room service: a lidded jug keeps juice covered between the kitchen and the room.
- Keep it cold: stand juice jugs on a tray of ice or near a chilling unit on long buffets.
For larger volumes of juice, our acrylic cereal and juice dispensers hold 8 litres per container. For water and drinks at the bar, see our pitchers, and for cream with coffee, our creamers. Browse the full barware and drinkware range for glasses to match.
Caring for Glass Jugs
Rinse jugs as soon as service ends, as milk leaves a film that is harder to clean once it dries. Wash with warm water and mild soap, use a bottle brush for the base and dry the jug upside down. Do not pour hot liquid into a cold glass jug, as the sudden change can crack it.
Glass Jugs for Hotels in Bulk
Most hotels plan two or three milk jugs and juice jugs per breakfast station, plus spares for breakage. Tell us your breakfast covers and the number of outlets, and our team will quote the right quantity, with GST billing and delivery across India.
Milk and Juice Jug FAQs
What size is your glass milk jug?
Our glass milk jug holds 1.3 litres. The glass juice jug with lid is also 1.3 litres.
Is a juice jug glass or steel better for buffets?
Glass is better for display, as guests can see the juice and staff can see when it runs low. Steel is lighter and harder to break, so it suits back-of-house use. The same goes for choosing a milk jug glass or steel.
Can I use the milk jug for hot milk?
Let hot milk cool slightly before pouring it into a cold glass jug, so the glass does not crack.
