Small Multi-Purpose Bowls
At 8 am it holds sambar next to an idli. At 1 pm it holds dal on a thali. At 5 pm it carries chutney beside a plate of pakoras, and at 10 pm it brings two gulab jamuns to the table. In a busy restaurant, the small bowl works every shift, which is why it pays to choose one that looks good at each of them.

Serving small bowls in one finish across the thali, the breakfast buffet and the dessert counter keeps the table looking like one set. For smaller sauce bowls, see our dip bowls and katoris, and for larger single portions, our portion dishes.
Small Bowls for Restaurants and Thali Service
Small bowls for restaurants need to stack well, wash easily and match the plates. Choose one or two shapes in the same glaze as your plates, so a broken piece can be replaced without changing the look of the table. For thali service, the dal bowl, katories and 250ml tub bowl sit neatly on a thali, and for set curd, see our set curd bowls.
A mini serving bowl also works on a dessert counter, for a single scoop, a gulab jamun or a fruit custard. For more dessert pieces, see our dessert cups.
Caring for Small Ceramic Bowls
Rinse each piece soon after service, as turmeric and tomato can stain if they dry inside. Wash with mild soap and warm water, and let hot pieces cool before washing, as a sudden change from hot to cold can crack ceramic. If you plan to use any piece in a microwave or dishwasher, ask our team which pieces suit that use.
